im back in the groove!!

my new best friends!!! im OFFICIALLY in love with "gel pens". they're soo smooth and versitile! YAY! im going to wait a little while until i start using acrylics or watercolors again. im gunna try to find the acrylic and watercolor pencils connie has been talking about so maybe that will work out?! i dunno??! but for now, gel pens and colored pencils are the way to go!

okay.
so mom and i ran into th dollar store the other day to try to find little nic-nacs to maybe incorperate into our work. we stumbled into the craftsy isle and found these CUTE scrapbooking decals. they were for travel and stuff and i thought i could make a cute girl traveling.something new, perhaps?!

voila! here she is! shes definitetly got some style when traveling! i thought a beret would top off her look! in the bottom left you can see the little suitcase that i took out of the scrapbooking decals. isnt it sooo cute?

the eiffel tower has got to be my favorite part! its glittery, its glam, and its mackenzie!
(b.t.w.-hope you dont think i drew that dog, its just a sticker!!)      ;]

hope you like her!!

p.s.connie,
you know that picture i said i stressed out on but you told me to hold on to? well i looked at it the other day and started loving it!! ive been working on it and its coming along! ill post it soon. THANK-YOU for your guidance and reassurance!!

Hey Carly!

I really love how you worked the composition in this piece. Your eye has a lot to look at and it keeps moving, plus you left some empty places for the eye to rest too. You probably didn't even realize that you were doing all this--huh?! True artists rarely do..till their piece is all finished. Nice job!

I like the collage effect too you made from the decals. A fun thing to try too is to get some clear packing tape and some magazines or print outs of pictures from your computer printer. Put the packing tape on an image that you like then place it in some water for about ten-fifteen minutes. Next, scratch the soft, wet paper off the back of the tape...you have an instant transperency of your image. It works super cool with magazine photos!!

Keep posting your work--I love it!

Peace & Love.
